Jessica Simpson has another reason to Party now… a celebrity website has named her as its 2006 Babe of the Year. They revealed she looked hottest this year had has been most newsworthy during the entire year.

Ironically, Simpson has beaten blonde babes like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, even Angelina Jolie!

Now thats a little strange!

Jessica Simpson was nervous when she appeared on MTV’s TRL this Wednesday to debut her new music video “A Public Affair”. But her ex-husband Nick’s new girlfriend Minnillo was noticeably absent.

Producers of the show wanted to avoid an awkward encounter between Minnillo and Simpson. That’s why they did not invite Minnillo. Even though, Simpson appeared uncomfortable. Though Jessica Simpson legs are not shaking, she repeatedly messed up her lines when reading from the teleprompter. She even stumbled over words.

She flubbed the show’s email address and blurted out to her MTV co-host, “Oh, my Lord! Tell me to breathe! Will you tell me to breathe?’

Apologizing to the audience she said,

“I’m sorry! I’m so nervous! I don’t know why I’m so nervous!”

When she was asked if she is willing to answer the auidience’s questions during the next segment, she replied gratefully, “I would love that! It’s better than reading a teleprompter!”

Later she attempted to read the teleprompter for the last time. But the irritated Simpson blurted out,

“Oh, my God! I’m horrible at this! That’s why I sing I guess!”

Jessica showed the audience how to pose better for the paparazzi. She also shared her favorite video clips, which included “Britney Spears’ I’m a Slave For U”.

Jessica Simpson is selected as a co-host of the Teen Choice Awards. This event is going to happen on Aug. 20. Not only is she a nominee, so is also her ex-husband, Nick Lachey and his new date Vanessa Minnillo.

Simpson is nominated for her role as Daisy Duke in “The Dukes of Hazzard” and also for choice red-carpet fashion icon and choice hottie. Lachey is nominated in the male hottie category. Minnillo is up for choice TV personality.

During the eighth annual Teen Choice Awards, the winners will be presented with surfboard awards. The awards event will air live on FOX at 8 p.m. ET. Simpson’s cohost will be announced later.

Voters are requested to cast their ballots until Aug. 11 on Web sites ‘Teenpeople.com’, ‘MySpace.com’, ‘Ign.com’ and ‘Fox.com’.
